International Online Conference organized by China CDC “On Plague Prevention and Control Technology” November 22, 2021

On November 22, 2021, the China CDC organized an International Online Conference “On Plague Prevention and Control Technology”, which was attended by leading experts and scientists in the field of epidemiology of China, Mongolia, Russia and Kazakhstan. This conference is a continuation of the International Symposium on Joint Prevention and Control of Plague, Anthrax and Brucellosis in Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and China, organized by the China CDC in Erdos city (PRC) in 2019.

In particular, the speakers at the conference were following: Professor, Director of the China CDC Laboratory Wei Li; Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Director of the Russian Research Anti-Plague Institute “Microb” V. Kutyrev; Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Deputy Director of the Russian Research Anti-Plague Institute “Microb” S. Shcherbakova; PhD, Professor, Director of the National Center for Zoonotic Diseases of Mongolia Niyamdorj Tsogbadrah; Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Director of the M. Aikimbayev’s National Scientific Center for Especially Dangerous Infections T. Yerubayev.

Participants shared up-to-date information on monitoring, prevention and non-proliferation of the plague. The parties also expressed interest in creating a unified scientific, methodological and information space in the field of epidemiological monitoring of plague; in improving epidemiological monitoring of plague based on uniform standards; in further expanding expeditionary activities in cross-border territories; introducing joint programs of epizootological monitoring and preventive measures for plague; in conducting joint exercises on state borders and in publishing joint monographs and Atlases.
