PRESS RELEASE on the International Online Conference on July 30, 2021

On July 30, 2021, the National Scientific Center for Particularly Dangerous Infections named after M. Aikimbayev, co-organized by the representative office of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Institute of Microbiology of the Bundeswehr, organized an international online conference “Infectious diseases with blood clotting disorders: viral hemorrhagic fevers, generalized bacteriosis, COVID-19”.

A wide range of participants was represented at the conference, where the event was attended by leading scientists and experts in the field of epidemiology of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, as well as international organizations – WHO, ISTC and Centers of Excellence of the EU CBRN.

This is the second international conference organized by the NNCOOI and GIZ this year. The meeting of experts in the field of epidemiology in the online format was held in order to strengthen international cooperation in the fight against particularly dangerous infections, COVID-19, the development of scientific exchange and the national potential of partner countries to combat infectious diseases.

The event was attended by more than 50 scientists and experts, where the conference speakers were leading scientists from different countries and international organizations: WHO technical Officer Abouali Mustafa; PhD, ISTC Program manager Hendrik Visser; Professor Tabynov K. K. (Kazakhstan); Professor of the University of Qaid-i Azam Rani Faryal (Pakistan); Professor Amvrosyeva T. V. (Belarus); Master of Science Edith Wagner (Germany); researcher of the Irkutsk NIPCHI Kiseleva N. O. and ROSNIPCHI “Microb” Chumachkova E. A. (Russia) and others.

This conference served as a platform for scientists in the field of biosafety to inform about the results of their scientific research, discuss and solve emerging problems related to their field of research, as well as to establish cooperation.
